OCR Buddy is free, open-source software. By using the extension or this website, you agree to the terms below.

1. License

OCR Buddy is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute it under those terms. The full license and source code are available on GitHub.

2. No warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. OCR is inherently imperfect: always verify extracted text against the source image before relying on it. You use OCR Buddy at your own risk.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software, including any errors in recognized text or any decisions made based on it.

4. Acceptable use

Use OCR Buddy only on content you are permitted to capture. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the websites you use it on and with any applicable laws, including copyright.

5. Privacy

OCR Buddy processes everything on your device and collects no data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Not affiliated with Google

OCR Buddy is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. "Chrome" is a trademark of Google LLC.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL with its "Last updated" date.
